🕊️ "Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall soar on wings like eagles…" Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)
I love this verse. It's such a great promise for all of us. Who doesn't need to feel strength renewed from time to time? Especially as we start a new year, full of plans and dreams and desires for change...
Sometimes we quote it quickly, as if what's needed will just arrive magically on demand. And then get frustrated when the promise doesn't seem to hold true. But the beauty of this passage is found in the nuances of how different Bible translations phrase it:
- "Those who wait on the Lord..." (NKJV)
- "Those who hope in the Lord..." (NIV)
- "Those who trust in the Lord..." (CSB)
- "Those who entwine their hearts with Yahweh...." (TPT)
Each offers a slightly different invitation.
Waiting implies patience in the unknown.
Hoping implies expectation for what’s possible.
Trusting implies anchoring ourselves in who God is—even when we don’t know the outcome. And Entwining our hearts... well that implies binding my heart so tightly with His there's no way I can feel alone in this.
So as you reflect on your life, your dreams, and your goals for this coming year… Which one of those words feels most needed in your heart right now?
- Do you need to slow down and wait with Him?
- To hope again after a hard season?
- To trust deeper than ever before?
- Or to feel him so close that your hearts beat as one?
You Were Made to SOAR...
The promise of Isaiah 40 is not just about survival—it’s about soaring. Not in our own power, but in His. And not in one giant leap, but over time, with grace.
Did you know that eagles learn to fly by bouncing?
They don’t launch effortlessly into the sky from day one. They flap, wobble, fall, sometimes crash all the way to the ground… and get up to try again. (This video is so inspiring if you're into eagles at all.)
That’s what real growth looks like.
Not flawless execution. Not overnight success. But a rhythm of rising and trying again.
So if you’ve already stumbled this year—or if you’re carrying dreams from last year that feel unfinished—you’re not behind.
You’re learning to bounce.
You’re building strength in the process.
And you’re still meant to SOAR.
Let's do it together!
For the last several (like NINE!) years, I've been "bouncing" around this verse. I've taught on it, written about it, dreamt of it, wrestled with it, and coached people through it. God will not let it go. So, THIS is the year. I'm making it my anchor and finally doing something about it. Wanna join me?
If your heart is stirring with something right now…
If you’re feeling stuck in the in-between…
If you’ve got dreams tucked away that you’re scared to say out loud… or If you just need to connect with others who may be feeling the same ...
I’d love to invite you to a free online gathering where we’ll explore what it looks like to SOAR into your God-given dream(s) this year—one grace-filled bounce forward at a time.
We’ll connect, reflect, and start the year not with hustle and white-knuckled grind or with shame and defeat - but instead with Holy Spirit and hope and self-kindness.

So, to recap:
- Whether you need to wait, hope, trust, or entwine your heart with His this year…
- Whether you’re flapping wildly or just barely bouncing off the ground…
Know this:
You were created to soar.
Not by pushing harder, but by rising in the power of the One who carries you.
Hope to see you on the 31st, but either way, be assured that I'm

Celebrating YOU!
Maggie. đź’ś
